Description
2011-1DER-010T is a 2011 Philadelphia Lincoln Shield cent reverse; the number has no mint letter, then 1 for one cent, DER (design extension, reverse), file 010 and the trails letter T. Light trails, heaviest on the ES of STATES, run at 025°, north-northeast. They show on EPU across the shield and on its middle band, through most of the legend around the top, at the tip of the right ribbon, on the T in CENT and on the JFM initials. TrailDies advises checking any trail die with cracks or breaks on the upper left of the shield carefully against its pictures, since that area cracks often. Its late-die-state coin has a long crack and break there and a cluster of small gouges below the shield's left side. Louis Schaeffer found the die. Trails are usually put down to polishing of the die with a rotary tool; some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
