Description
The (PL) in 2009P(PL)-1DER-007T points to the Professional Life reverse design; the rest of the number gives 2009 and P for date and Philadelphia mint, the cent's 1, DER for the reverse, 007 as the file and T, the trail type. Trails leave the initials of the designer, all of CENT, the E of ONE and the EPU motto, all at 120°, east-southeast, down and to the right. The middle-die-state coin has nothing listed on the obverse; on the reverse one crack starts at the lower left corner of the D in UNITED and another leaves the top of Lincoln's head. Jason Dick found it. Rotary polishing of the die is the explanation usually given, with the die moving against the hub as the alternative some favour.
