About This Coin
The 2009 Lincoln Cent is a United States cent from the Lincoln Bicentennial Cents 2009 series. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right, while the reverse displays four different designs released throughout 2009, each representing a stage of Lincoln's life. Designed by Victor David Brenner (obverse) / four different reverse designers. Struck in copper-plated zinc, 19 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Produced at the Denver, Philadelphia, and San Francisco Mints. The 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cents commemorated the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth with four rotating reverse designs: Birth and Early Childhood (log cabin), Formative Years (Lincoln reading on a log), Professional Life (Lincoln at the Illinois State Capitol), and Presidency (the half-completed U.S. Capitol dome). A popular modern set that tells Lincoln's life story across four coins. The satin finish mint set versions and proof sets are particularly sought after.
