Description

Trails on 2007P(ID)-25DEO-001T leave the upper right corner of each letter of IN GOD WE TRUST and from the mint mark, with lighter ones on DOLLAR's R and LIBERTY's Y. All point east-northeast, 060°, up and to the right. As a code, this is a 2007 Philadelphia quarter (25) of the Idaho issue (ID); DEO says the extension is on the obverse, and the 001T ending gives file and type. TrailDies describes an early-die-state coin with no markers on either side, so the trail pattern itself, strong on the motto and light on DOLLAR and LIBERTY, is the guide. The common view is that a rotary buff used to polish the die drew these lines out; another view credits die movement against the hub.
