Description
Trails rise from the tops of the LIBERTY letters on 2006P-5DEO-001T and point at 060°, east-northeast, toward the upper right of the coin. TrailDies' code stands for a 2006 Philadelphia (2006P) five-cent piece (5) with an obverse design extension (DEO), file 001, type T for trails. The middle-die-state coin in the entry has die dots below and between WE's E and TRUST's first T, and beneath the OD of GOD; a further dot on the reverse lies below and between the C and E of MONTICELLO. Tanaka Davis found the die. The accepted cause of trails is rotary polishing of the working die, though a few writers link them to the die moving against the hub.

- Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – die dots are seen below and in between the E of WE and the first T of TRUST and the OD of GOD.
- Reverse is MDS – another die dot is seen in between and below the C and E of MONTICELLO.
