1995 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-013T Trail Die Reverse

Description

Lines on 1995D-1DER-013T spread across much of the reverse: the left side of the Memorial, the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, AMER in AMERICA, the EN of CENT and the NE of ONE all carry them, angled at 300°, west-northwest. Its number marks it as a Denver cent of 1995 whose reverse shows a design extension, which is what DER abbreviates; 013 is the file and T means trails. At the middle die state TrailDies records, small gouges sit inside the O of ONE, above the UR of PLURIBUS and left of the T in CENT, with a dent low in bay 5. John Rosenberg found the die. Rotary polishing of the die is the usual explanation for trails; a minority view ties them to die-to-hub movement.

• Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen in the O of ONE. A small die gouge is sen above the UR of PLURIBUS. A die dent is seen in the lower part of bay 5. A small die gouge is seen to the left of the T in cent.
