1995 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

1995-D WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 1995-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is a close Class V counterclockwise (CCW) spread pivoting near 1:00. It is visible on LIBERTY and IN GOD, on the vest's lower folds, on the mint mark, and along the left side of each digit in the date. On the obverse, a long scratch climbs from the field behind the head up to the rim, passing left of IN, and a small gouge (dot) sits near the rim to the left of that scratch. On the reverse, several NW/SE scratches cross the TED of UNITED. Billy G. Crawford submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
