1995 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-008WS Trail Die Reverse
Error
Description
1995D-1DER-008WS has light fluting lines reaching into the stylobate beneath columns 2 and 3, and steps that bend light to moderately beneath columns 5 to 8, offset at 190°, a few degrees west of south. Trails crossing the Memorial's stairs give them the bent look called wavy steps. The number reads 1995D for the date and Denver mint, 1 as the denomination, DER as the reverse design extension, file 008 and WS. TrailDies' coin is from early in the die's life (stage A), with no obverse markers; the reverse has two small die dots in bay 10 and two more below and right of AMERICA's I. Trails are commonly credited to rotary polishing of the working die; others suggest the die moved against the hub.
Die Markers
- Stage “A”, obverse id LEDS – none noted.
- Reverse is LEDS – two small die dots in bay # 10. Two small die dots are seen to the lower right of the I in AMERICA.
