Description

On 1995D-1DER-005WS the steps bend moderately below columns 5 to 8, at 200°, south-southwest, down and a little to the left; no fluting extension is listed. These wavy steps come from trails that cross the Memorial's stairs. The code covers 1995 and the Denver mint (1995D), the cent (1), a reverse design extension (DER), file 005 and WS. On the described stage B coin, a gouge lies below the last T of TRUST, and a die crack runs between the E and R of AMERICA on the reverse. Most specialists blame die polishing with a rotary tool for trails, while some look instead to the die moving against the hub.
