1995 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-004WS Trail Die Reverse

Description

Light step bending under columns 5, 6 and 7 is the trail feature on 1995D-1DER-004WS, with TrailDies' heading putting the direction at 180°, straight down the coin. Wavy steps describe trails crossing the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial so the treads look bent. The number gives the year and Denver mint (1995D), the cent (1), a reverse design extension (DER), file 004 and wavy steps (WS). The stage B coin has die gouges over VDB on the obverse and more gouges under the right side of the Memorial's base. The common explanation is rotary polishing of the die face; a smaller camp attributes the lines to movement between die and hub.
