1995 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - D-1DER-003WS Trail Die Reverse

Description

On 1995D-1DER-003WS the stairs bend lightly under columns 5 to 8, with no fluting extension recorded, and TrailDies' heading direction is 180°, due south. On wavy-step dies the trails run across the Memorial's steps, giving them a bent look. TrailDies' number shows a 1995 Denver cent (1995D, 1), a design extension on the reverse (DER), file 003 and WS for wavy steps. The coin described is a stage B example, with a gouge above LIBERTY's B and E and, on the reverse, a gouge beside the left tip of the cornice. Trails like these are usually put down to the die being polished with a rotary buff, though some attribute them to the die moving against the hub.
