Description
1995D-1DER-001T carries a T suffix, but TrailDies' entry describes a wavy-step pattern: below columns 2 and 3 the fluting extends moderately into the stylobate, and the stairs bend moderately under the four central columns, 5 to 8, at 180°, due south. Such stair bending is TrailDies' wavy steps: trails crossing the Memorial's steps. The number reads 1995D (date and Denver mint), 1 (cent), DER (reverse, design extension), file 001, T (trails). The stage C coin has a row of five die gouges under the left side of the Memorial's base and an old die scrape at the bottom of bay 1; the obverse has no markers. Rotary-buff polishing of the die is the explanation generally given for trails; some prefer die-to-hub movement.
