Description
1993P-5DEO-001T is a 1993 Philadelphia Jefferson nickel obverse with trails on two letters, the W of WE and the D of GOD, pointing to 350°, just west of north. In TrailDies' code the 5 stands for the five-cent nickel and DEO for an obverse design extension; 1993P is the date and mint, and 001T the file with its trails suffix. Both sides of the coin are late: heavy scratching surrounds the date, and on the reverse cracks show at both corners of Monticello's roof and at the right corner of its base line. Tanaka Davis found it. Trails are usually blamed on polishing of the die with a rotary tool, though some blame the die moving against the hub.
