Description
1987D-1DEO-003T has very faint trails from the T, R, U and S of TRUST, angled toward 300°, west-northwest, up and to the left. The number marks a 1987 Denver cent (1987D, 1) whose obverse (DEO) has trails (T); 003 is the file number. TrailDies' coin is graded LDS, stage C. A small gouge sits above the 7 of the date, and on the reverse a small die dot lies below the second U of PLURIBUS. Jeremy Gardner found the die. The usual view of trails is that they come from the die being polished with a rotary buff; a minority attributes them to the die moving against the hub.
