Description

Obverse: Die Markers: Obverse: Stage A: E/W die scratch runs through the upper opening of the E in LIBERTY. Die gouge under U in TRUST. Die gouges left of and well south of I in LIBERTY. Stage B: All Stage A markers present but weak. Die gouge behind Lincoln’s head. Die gouges in vest west of the lower mint mark. Reverse: Stage A: A series of E-W oriented die gouges show inside the rim above OF and the last S in STATES. Three parallel die scratches run NE from the tip of the last A in AMERICA. A short die scratch runs from the rim NE of the last A in AMERICA. A die gouge shows along the upper edge of the left diagonal crossbar of the M in UNUM. A tiny die gouge shows below the B in PLURIBUS. A die gouge runs south from the lower right curve of the U in UNUM. Two die gouges show above the right memorial roof. Stage B: Only the die gouges above right roof and through the motto are still visible from Stage A markers. A large die gouge shows in the lower opening of the C in AMERICA.
