Description

1986-D WDDO-001 is a doubled die obverse on the 1986-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Class VI extra thickness shows on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the upper hair details. On the obverse, two parallel SSW-to-NNE scratches lie between the date's 9 and 8, and many more scratches running the same way appear right of the bust and over the date. On the reverse, a gouge sits under the upright of the R in AMERICA, and a small gouge lies inside the lower part of CENT's E. William Slaughter submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
