1986 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

1986-D WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 1986-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Slight doubling shows on the lower ear. On the obverse, scratches reach NW from the 19 of the date, and a NW/SE scratch lies in front of the chin. Behind the head, over the Y in LIBERTY, there is a weak NE/SW scratch, and a small gouge sits in front of the lower eyelid. On the reverse, die chips show on the upper tenth column, a gouge lies left of the U in UNITED, and a small gouge sits left of the lower first column. James Cassin submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
