Description

1964-D WDDO-011 is a doubled die obverse on the 1964-D Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class II spread toward the center appears on ERTY of LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST (IGWT), the date, the hair across the head's top and back and the designer's initials; TY of LIBERTY is tripled. On the obverse, a scratch runs SE from the base of the nose to the lips. The reverse has the flanged G in FG. John A. Wexler submitted the variety, and CONECA lists it as 9-O-II. Wexler notes it was formerly WDDO-027 and was renumbered to fill some of the many gaps in the listings left once the master die doubling and doubled working hubs were identified. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
