Description
1964-D WDDO-008 is a doubled die obverse on the 1964-D Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling is a CCW spread pivoting near 10:00, visible on TY of LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST (IGWT), the hair at the back of the head, the date and the designer's initials. Obverse markers: a small gouge lies north of the U in TRUST, over its right side, and strong scratches, close to horizontal, run left of the upper part of the B in LIBERTY. The reverse has the flanged G in FG, several SW/NE scratches above the D mint mark, and numerous N/S scratches through AM in AMERICA. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
