1962 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-004

Description

1962-D WRPM-004 is a repunched mint mark on the 1962-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated). Several E/W die cracks cross the head's top, a helix-shaped scratch sits in the hair NE of the ear, and strong N/S scratches lie above the nose. NW/SE scratches leave the hair on the head's back, and a gouge sits on the neck above the date's 9. Reverse gouges: one over UNITED's U, a large one on the lower right corner of its N, several large ones on and above its D, one under the left side of AMERICA's first A, one over the right side of AMERICA's M, and one over the right side of UNUM's M. Scott Holliday submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references and notes this is a replacement listing, since the original files were missing from the Bordner files.
