1962 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-002

Description

1962-D WRPM-002 is a repunched mint mark on the 1962-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D North. Obverse Stage A has a scratch running south from the left center of the date's 9 and scratches running south from the designer's initials; on Obverse Stage B only very weak traces of them remain. Reverse Stage A has swirling scratches around the olive stem and a N by E scratch from the center of UNUM's N to the lower right oak leaf. On Reverse Stage B those markers are gone; scratches run south from RIB of PLURIBUS, and a light scratch runs SE off the olive stem's right side. Stage A came from Joe Feld and Stage B from John A. Wexler. CONECA lists it as RPM #1. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
