1962 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-001 / RPM-005

Description

1962-D WRPM-001 is a repunched mint mark on the 1962-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team and by VarietyVista as RPM-005. Wexler describes it as D/D Horizontal and VarietyVista as D/Horizontal D, and both cite it as FS-501 in the Cherrypickers' Guide (Wexler writes FS-10-1962D-501). Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties records a crack running SE across the top of the nostril on the obverse. On the reverse a scratch runs north from the P of PLURIBUS to the first leaf, a short strong gouge points SSE from the lower left of the R of AMERICA, and a short gouge sits just off the upper left corner of the E of DIME. Richard Hana submitted the coin, and CONECA lists it as RPM #5. VarietyVista also credits Richard Hana with the report. Under its marker codes UVC-393 and DMR-007, both sides are in an early die state at stage A; stage B (a middle die state) and stage C (a late die state) are unconfirmed.
