1957-D Repunched Mintmark WRPM-010

Description

Bearing a tilted — or rotated — secondary D visible alongside the primary mintmark, the 1957-D Roosevelt dime WRPM-010 captures one of the more geometrically interesting RPM configurations, where the repunch was applied at a slight angular offset rather than a simple directional shift. Obverse die markers for this working die are unusually numerous: a die gouge extends south-southwest from the upper right side of the last T in TRUST, a die scratch angles northeast-to-southwest above the upper left of the G in GOD, and a medium die chip sits on Lincoln's — Roosevelt's — nose above the nostril, providing an immediately visible identification point. The reverse carries a die scratch running south from the lower left side of the E in STATES down to the left side of the torch flame. These four die markers — the TRUST gouge, GOD scratch, nose chip, and STATES-to-flame scratch — collectively fingerprint this die with unusual precision. Cataloged by the Wexler Team as WRPM-010 with no known cross-references, this variety represents the tenth documented RPM for the 1957 Denver dime.
