Description

1957-D WRPM-008 is a repunched mint mark on the 1957-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated). Many N/S scratches cover the fields and the shallower parts of the design, with especially strong ones extending N and S from the nose. A long N/S scratch crosses the left side of GOD's D and the right side of TRUST's first T. Halfway between the nose and LIBERTY's E is a cluster of gouges, and a large gouge sits on the temple. The reverse has many thin N/S scratches across the fields. V-shaped scratches lie over UNUM's first U, with a long N/S scratch under its left side. A NE/SW scratch links STATES's E with the upper right cluster of olive leaves, a scratch extends S off the mint mark, and a cluster of gouges sits under RI in AMERICA. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
