1957 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-002

Description

1957-D WRPM-002 is a repunched mint mark on the 1957-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated). A heavy east-to-west scratch runs from under the bust to under JS (the designer's initials) and the 19 of the date. From the nose a scratch heads north to LIBERTY's E, and several north-to-south scratches sit under the nose. The reverse has many scratches, mostly north to south, all over. Under ED in UNITED are two parallel scratches; one scratch crosses the tops of ICA in AMERICA and another the middle of DIME's M. David Goff submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references and notes this is a replacement listing, since the original files were missing from the Bordner files.
