1955 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-009

Description

1955-D WRPM-009 is a repunched mint mark on the 1955-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated). On the obverse, a die chip sits near the center of the right side of the date's second 5. A heavily polished die clash shows at the hair's front and behind the neck, and scratches mark the nose and lie ahead of the eye. On the reverse, E/W scratches surround the olive stem. Die clashes show at the upper right oak leaf and at the lower olive and lower left leaf. Thomas Kalantzis submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
