Description
1951-S WRPM-009 is a repunched mint mark on the 1951-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S Tilted (Rotated). On the obverse, two strong N/S scratches mark the neck under the ear, a N/S scratch lies ahead of the forehead, a short NNE/SSW scratch sits ahead of the throat, and a short scratch runs parallel to the top of LIBERTY's B. On the reverse, thin N/S scratches lie between the upper oak leaf cluster and the flame and cross US in PLURIBUS. A large gouge sits between the leftmost olive leaf cluster and IT in UNITED. Eric Axtell submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
