1951 (S) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-007

Description

1951-S WRPM-007 is a repunched mint mark on the 1951-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S/S, West and West. On the obverse, strong N/S scratches run through the fields and across the throat, strong NE/SW scratches mark the back of the neck, and X-shaped scratches sit inside the ear. Many small gouges lie over IN GOD. On the reverse, strong N/S scratches cross ONE DIME and the olive branch, and two strong N/S scratches sit under ER in AMERICA. Short gouges lie between the leaves of the oak cluster lying over the torch, and many small gouges surround TED in UNITED. Tanner Scott submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
