Description

The 1950-S Repunched Mintmark RPM-005 is a repunched mint mark variety of the United States dime. This variety was discovered on the 1950 (S) Roosevelt Dime, part of the Roosevelt Silver Dimes 1946-1964 series. Die markers: UVC-204 DMR-006 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Reverse and Obverse are MDS Stage C: Reverse and Obverse are LDS Stage D: Reverse is VLDS Light die crack in back of hair – VLDS. Cross-referenced as FS-501. S/Inverted S. FS-501. A recent re-evaluation of this variety indicated that the underlying mintmark was not a D as previously thought but an inverted S. While not an OMM as originally thought, it is the only inverted S RPM known and still a scarce and very desirable variety.
