1950-S Repunched Mintmark RPM-002

Description

Among the repunched mintmark varieties cataloged for the 1950-S Roosevelt Dime, RPM-002 is defined by an eastward S/S secondary punch shift and is assigned UVC-201 and DMR-003. The 1950-S Roosevelt Dime is a key date in the series, struck in 90% silver with Sinnock's JS initials at the base of Roosevelt's portrait. Three die stages are documented. Stage A is early die state, currently unconfirmed. Stage B is mid-die state, currently unconfirmed. Stage C is the definitively marked phase: the reverse is confirmed late die state, and a light die crack has developed at the head running to the rim at the K-12:00 position — a reliable late-stage attribution marker for circulated or late-die-state examples. The Stage C die crack at K-12:00 provides an anchor independent of mintmark detail visibility, making RPM-002 attributable through two independent diagnostic channels.
