1949 (S) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-005

Description

1949-S WRPM-005 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S/S, West and West, and notes that, compared with WRPM-004, it sits nearer the torch base. The obverse has a chipped die crack at the ear's upper inside and scratches running roughly south off the back of the bust. The reverse has a N/S scratch joining the L in PLURIBUS with the lower olive, and inside the D in DIME a scratch runs NNE from its lower part out into the field. Jeff Longeuay submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as RPM #1.
