1949 (S) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-001

Description

1949-S WRPM-001 is a repunched mint mark on the 1949-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S/S East and South. On the obverse, a NW/SE die crack crosses the back of the head, a die clash sits ahead of the eye, and several gouges lie over the date's 4. On the reverse, an E/W die crack crosses the E in ONE and reaches the D in DIME. On the left cluster of olive leaves, the top leaf has a short N/S crack; N/S scratches cross the L in PLURIBUS, and short gouges mark the right sides of the D and I in DIME. Eric Axtell submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references and notes this is a replacement listing, since the original files were missing from the Bordner files.
