1947 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-010

Description

1947-S WRPM-010 is a repunched mint mark on the 1947-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S West: the extra S lies west of the primary. Obverse Stage A: a gouge on the lower bust. Obverse Stage B: a gouge lower right of the date's 7, at the rim's edge. Obverse Stage C: a chip under the eyelid. Obverse Stage D: a chip below the lips, high on the chin. Reverse Stage A: a north-south scratch inside ONE's O; multiple scratches around the left wheat stalk; two scratches running north from the upper right of UNITED's N; a long scratch starting inside the lower loop of STATES' first S, running south through AMERICA's E, and ending in the field below; and a north-south scratch between STATES' A and T that runs south to end between AMERICA's C and A. Reverse Stage B adds a short scratch running north from the top of CENT's N; Reverse Stage C a gouge in the field near the rim, right of the E of E PLURIBUS; and Reverse Stage D a chip right of AMERICA's upper I.
