Description

Obverse Stage B: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: N/S Die gouge on forehead ending at hair line. N/S die scratches run from the nose to the chin. N/S die scratches under the chin. N/S die scratch right of the mint mark. Obverse Stage B: All markers are now faint. Reverse Stage A: N/S die scratches on most of reverse. Strong die scratch runs south from between U and N of UNITED threw the O in OF ending at the top of the wheat stem. Long die scratch runs south from the upper loop of the first S of STATES continuing south ending between the E and R of AMERICA. Reverse Stage B: Most N/S die scratches no longer show or faint.
