An S/S East variety using MMS-004 (Trumpet Tail) mintmark punch, this VarietyVista-documented 1947-S Lincoln Wheat Cent identifies both the displacement direction and the specific punch style. Die markers UVC-2594 / DMR-015: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B with die scratches north-south on obverse and a vertical die scratch through R of AMERICA at MDS; Stage C at LDS (unconfirmed). The Trumpet Tail designation (MMS-004) refers to an S punch variant with a flared terminal on the lower curve, helping researchers track which physical mintmark punches were in service at the San Francisco Mint. Composed of 95% copper and 5% tin-zinc at 3.11 grams and 19.05 mm, the 1947-S was struck during the early post-war era. The vertical die scratch through AMERICA provides a distinctive reverse attribution marker independent of the primary RPM displacement.
