Description
1946 WDDO-006 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946 Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A clockwise (CW) spread pivoting from about 2:00 appears on the ribbon's bottom, the designer's initials, the date and IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse, two short gouges extend SE off the underside of the chin, and a crack crosses the bust's base. On the reverse, two scratches head WSW off the U in UNITED from its left side, several nearly horizontal scratches cross the RTER of QUARTER, a crack descends the eagle's right wing, and a crack links the IBUS of PLURIBUS with the upper left wing. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
