1943-D Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-005

Description

A CCW spread from a pivot at 9:00 shows on LIBERTY, the date, the designer’s initials, the bottom of the ribbon, and slightly on WE. Die Markers: Obverse: Curving die scratches can be found below the E in WE. A short die gouge runs SW from the bottom left corner of the D in UNITED. Reverse: Two parallel die scratches run NE from the lower part of the branch end to the right of the mint mark. A die scratch runs NE from the lower part of the branch end to the left of the mint mark.
