Description
1943-D WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 1943-D Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A very close clockwise (CW) spread pivoting from about 1:00 appears on the lower ribbon, the date and IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse, a SW/NE scratch lies left of the upper R in LIBERTY, and a crack crosses the bust's base and enters the lower queue. On the reverse, a crack descends the eagle's right wing, and NW/SE scratches cross the LL of DOLLAR. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
