This variety was discovered on the 1943 (D) Jefferson Nickel - Wartime Silver Alloy, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-120 DMR-005 Stage A: Reverse and Obverse are EDS Stage B: Machine Damage Doubling on Reverse – EMDS Obverse is EMDS Stage C: Reverse is MDS Die crack head to rim at K-11:30 – MDS Die crack Southeast across shoulder to rim at K-5:30 Stage D: LDS (unconfirmed).
