Description
D/D Southeast with a dual-variety bonus: the obverse die is separately listed as 1942-D 1¢ WDDO-008, showing doubling on the underside of L in LIBERTY — meaning collectors obtain both RPM and DDO on the same coin. Reverse markers: die scratches between C and E of CENT and second T of STATES; long die scratch between ES of STATES. The 1942-D was the last Denver cent in standard pre-war bronze before the 1943 shift to zinc-coated steel. Cross-referenced as Wexler Variety ID: 1942-D 1¢ WRPM-008, attributed by the Wexler Team.
