Description

A close spread shows on GOD, WE, and TRUST. Very light separation shows on the right edge of the 4 and 2 in the date. Die Markers: Obverse: A die gouge shows at the margin of Lincoln’s hair below the O in GOD. A tiny die gouge shows to the right of the upper T in LIBERTY. A small die gouge shows along the truncation of Lincoln’s bust, right of the VDB initials. Reverse: A long die crack runs NW from the upper left edge of the E in ONE, ending near the U in PLURIBUS. An area of die deterioration shows to the northwest of the C in CENT. A die gouge (dot) shows inside the opening of the C in CENT. A die gouge shows to the right of the upper right wheat tip.
