Description
Doubling shows as a tripled die obverse with areas of doubling visible below the L in LIBERTY and left of I in IN and both T’s in TRUST. Die Markers: Obverse: Faded die scratches show below the TR in TRUST. A light die scratch connects the lower 1 in the date with the outer curve of the 9 in the date. A light, die scratch runs south from the 1 in the date. A diagonal die scratch shows in the field to the left of the mint mark. Concentric die scratches show in the field NW of the 1 in the date. A die gouge shows behind Lincoln’s lapel, left of the buttonhole. A vertical die scratch runs north from the R in LIBERTY. Reverse: Vertical die scratches show through the upper T in CENT. A series of vertical die scratches connect the lower T in CENT and the second T in STATES. Vertical die scratches run through the D in UNITED and first S in STATES. A series of mostly vertical die scratches run through the C and A in AMERICA. Obverse:
