1940 Washington Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

1940 WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 1940 Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. The spread is to the west, on IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse, a strong scratch extends east off the 9 in the date from its lower right, and a short scratch extends east off the 0, also from its lower right. On LIBERTY, a scratch heads WNW off the upper left of the B, a gouge sits inside the upper B, and a scratch heads SW off the R from its lower left. Wexler notes no reverse markers.
