1939 (S) Washington Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-006

Description

1939-S WDDO-006 is a doubled die obverse on the 1939-S Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. A very close clockwise (CW) spread pivoting from about 12:00 shows on the designer's initials, the date and the bottom of the ribbon, and slightly on IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse, a scratch heads NW off the upper left of the U in TRUST, and another runs SSE from the R in TRUST. Upper right of the E in LIBERTY there is a gouge. NW/SE scratches lie between the E and R in LIBERTY at their lower parts and between its R and T, and scratches head ESE off the Y, from its right side. Wexler notes no reverse markers.
