Description
A CW spread from a pivot at about 12:00 shows on the date, the designer’s initials, IGWT, the lower queue, and the lower ribbon.Die Markers: Obverse: A die scratch runs east from the right side of the first 9 in the date. A die scratch runs from the lower right of the G in GOD to the upper left of the U in TRUST. A die scratch runs west from the left side of the I in LIBERTY. Reverse: The reverse is also an RPM variety listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1939-S 25¢ WRPM-001. It is an S/S North. A die crack runs from the rim through the upper NITED of UNITED. A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing ending in the field above the Q in QUARTER. A die crack runs from the top of the forehead east into the hair. A die crack runs through the upper left of the one in the date across the base of the bust and into the queue. Reverse: A die crack runs east through the upper RIBUS in PLURIBUS and down the eagle’s left wing ending below the R in AMERICA. A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing. A short die crack can be found on the branch above the OL in DOLLAR.
