Description

Obverse Stage A: Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: E/W die scratches above the date. Obverse Stage B: Weak circular lathe scratches near the upper back of the head at 11:00 area. This scratch is probably present and stronger on the Stage A specimens. Reverse Stage A: NNE/SSW die scratch center of the lower opening of the E of FIVE. NE die scratches from the inside of the C in CENTS. Die gouge in the field below the left side of the E in CENTS. Reverse Stage B: Scratch at the E of FIVE still present. Other Stage A markers are weaker. Secondary mint mark is weaker and omitting the strong details of the “S” mint mark.
