Cross-referenced as Fivaz-Stanton FS-513, this 1938-D Buffalo Nickel exhibits a D/S South over mint mark — a Denver D punch applied over a previously placed San Francisco S, indicating die reassignment between facilities. The reverse is also listed as DDR-001, creating a dual-variety coin. Die markers UVC-226 / DMR-011: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B with reverse listed as DDR-001 at MDS and obverse at MDS; Stage C with reverse and obverse at LDS.
