1955 (D) Jefferson Nickel - Over Mint Mark WOMM-002

Description

1955-D WOMM-002 is an over mint mark on the 1955-D Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. The D was punched over an S (D/S). On the obverse, several north-south die scratches lie left of the nose, lips and chin. On the reverse, several WSW-to-ENE scratches lie under the E PL of E PLURIBUS UNUM; short horizontal scratches sit above the roof's left end; and other scratches appear across the reverse. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as OMM #2.
