1934 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-005

Description

This 1934 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mint mark, WRPM-005, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com) as 1934-D 1¢ WRPM-005. The mint mark is D/D West. Stage A markers include a near-vertical gouge at the front of the vest left of the date and mint mark, two short gouges north from the top of the 3, a scratch SW from the upper left of the mint mark, an east-west scratch inside the D of GOD, and a curly gouge on the forehead below the front hair. By Stage B these are abraded away and only a remnant of the secondary's lower bar remains, shorter still on Stage C. Reverse Stage A: SW scratches at the C of CENT and SE scratches under the crossbar of the T; Stage B adds a die chip above the left wheat stem, centered between OF and AMERICA.
