1934 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-002

Description

This 1934 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mint mark, WRPM-002, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com) as 1934-D 1¢ WRPM-002. The mint mark is D/D Northwest. Stage A shows a strong secondary, a north-south scratch inside the lower loop of the B in LIBERTY, and NE-SW scratches inside the 9 and at the upper opening of the 3. A light crack through the R of TRUST into the hair appears on Stage B and is heavier on Stage C, while the secondary fades to very weak by Stage D. Reverse: SSE scratches from under the crossbar of the T in CENT (A-B), a die chip at 9:00 on the left wheat with a crack through the grains (C), and on Stage D a new reverse die with a short, heavy scratch at the E in ONE.
